Joshua M. Katz z"l

Joshua was passionate about many things, including volunteerism and giving back to the community. Through the Katz Family Charitable Foundation, Josh volunteered his time as an Auctioneer for charity events and fundraisers across the region for more than twenty years. Through his direct efforts, Josh helped raise tens of millions in donations for numerous charities, while donating 100% of any funds received into the Katz Family Charitable Foundation back into the community to support hunger relief, growth, and development.
 
Josh was a committed philanthropist. As a frequent and enthusiastic volunteer, Josh was a visible role model of service and community involvement. Besides auctioneering, Josh packed food boxes monthly at JRA, served lunch weekly at his sons’ school, led service missions abroad, acted as Treasurer for Kehillah soccer, and coached his son’s sports team. When it came to volunteering, Josh believed in doing and not just talking about it. Doing the right thing not for recognition, but because it was him – a true mensch. Josh was a dependable helper, demonstrating kindness and generosity, who strengthened the community through good deeds big or small. And, if you know Josh, he did everything with a smile and humor, making even the hard work enjoyable and lifting everyone up around him.
